Hello, podcast pumpkins 🎃 (and your grownups)! I realize that not all of you live in the United States where Halloween is celebrated with gusto! Whether or not you observe this holiday, we have some fun seasonal story recommendations for you! 🍁🎃🌻 This week's newsletter is heavier on entertainment but still full of educational content. I've broken the shows out by age category with the Littles (pre-k and younger), the Mediums (early elementary), and the Bigs (older elementary +). I will dig into a few of the shows but really just wanted to provide a fun list of Halloween episodes from many of our favorite podcasts. Story Spectacular is created and hosted by children's book author, artist, and illustrator, Angela Ferrari. Angela has created a series of Halloween shows that run through the month of October (Wanda the Witch and Buffy the Bat are examples), in addition to her regularly scheduled shows which are of combination bedtime and daytime stories. Story Spectacular episodes launch twice a month and include both original stories and classics with a twist. Angela has been producing the podcast since 2017 and has over 150 episodes.

If your kids want a little more oomph in their thrilling tales, check out the Dutch Hotel stories in the Storynory Podcast. The creators of Storynory launched this series last year just before Halloween. Each Dutch Hotel episode follows a London family who moves into and manages an old hotel that is HAUNTED! 👻

Stine Story Club is a series of short and spooky tales from the wildly popular Goosebumps author. The show is produced by GoKidGo and has over 300 episodes. 😱 The Hollow was created to commemorate the 200th anniversary of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". This podcast is a modern take on the story in which three 6th graders at Sleepy Hollow Middle School find themselves sucked into a real-life ghost story. The show has 13 episodes over 2 seasons and was created by GenZMedia. 😱 Unspookable is like a mystery within a mystery, taking listeners behind the scenes of some of the most famous mysteries, legends, and myths in history. The show digs into legends like the Loch Ness Monster, the Jersey Devil, and the Bermuda Triangle, trying to determine the facts from the fiction. Unspookable is created and produced by Soundsington Media and has 49 episodes.
